Thanks, but I'm actually not new to the forum. I use to post a few years ago using a different screen name (littlebearcat). And the "F" in my
avatar is blue and orange only because it matches the colors I chose to use on my own forum. Never thought about it resembling Trojan colors... yuck!

If I were you Megafan, I would recommend the home side. Although away side is a lot closer to the action, the view is less than adequate for my liking.
www.fremontrossfootball.com has a lot of nice pictures of outside and inside the stadium but the website seems to be gone now.
We are in the middle of raising funds for the completion of the new visitor stands. But with today's economy I think its all been put on hold. |

RossFan,
I tried posting that earlier in this thread and Keith told me the site has been taken down. My guess is GoHooterGo is waiting until football season to start paying for it to be online again. |

I talked to some people who have seen you play in the past, and they said you guys would probably have won the state title in MI last year. And you guys say
you have a lot back, at least on offense, so I'm really looking forward to seeing you guys play.
On a different note, a big time traditional power in the Detroit area called Dearborn Fordson [finished 12-1 last year, and was in the state semifinals], a team I follow pretty closely; might need to schedule a game for the August 28th weekend because their opponent might drop out. Is there anywhere online that I could look and see if there are any Ohio teams that have that week open? Or does anybody know of teams who have not scheduled a game for that week? I'd like to go on another forum and post possible matchups if Fordson does need to schedule somebody else, but I can't find anybody's schedules, or a page that lists open dates for teams in Ohio. |

www.jjhuddle.com has a section for open dates in one of their topics you could post.
I know VERY little about Michigan football, but before Fremont Ross could win any state title, they need to get a "playoff swagger" going where they go in expecting to win and take care of business. A few years ago, they had the potential to do some damage in the Ohio Playoffs, but got upset in round one by Toledo Whitmer on one of those "blunder" type plays. |

http://www.ohsaa.org go to open dates and you can find them there.
Being a resident of Michigan I can tell you that high school football up here is not quite at the level that it is in Ohio. I won't say that Ross would have won a title up here but the Little Giants would have been very competitive. Keith |

What is the full Ross schedule for 2009?. Per www.highschoolsports.net, there is an incomplete schedule for Ross. That just means that Ross has not informed
hss.net what their complete schedule is at this time.
The school website for Ross also does not show the 2009 schedule yet. I'm from Michigan and post quite frequently on Searn's forum. For Michigan high schools, every opponent's schedule factors into the playoff point averages for a school. Though "6 wins and you're in" qualifies teams in Michigan to be in the playoffs, many tiebrakers and home seedings are determined by the overall playoff point average for Michigan schools. Thus every win by an opponent helps each school. Where can I see a complete Ross schedule? This schedule will be used by the MHSAA when calculating Lahser's playoff point average (PPA), and it will also be posted on: www.up-football.com, in the "Out of State" forum. |

I guess MegaFan66 was way ahead of us Michiganders in terms of discussing this matchup ...
It's always interesting when there are interstate matchups ... unfortunately for us (MHSAA fans) the more I look into this game the more I see a big loss for "our team". (Lahser) While Lahser is a good team, and the OAA is a very good conference at the top. ... Lahser players in the Blue division of the OAA which I believe would be in the conversation of "the weakest big school conferences in Michigan" ... as was shown in 2007 when Lahser got bumped up a division to play with the better big schools in Oakland County (2-7 record)... While I would consider Lahser a good program .... and very good in a not very deep SE Michigan D3 category ... I don't believe they are up for a matchup like this on the road. FR 42, Lahser 14 ... but I'll be hoping Lahser proves me wrong.
Interested in where MHSAA players will be playing at the next level and/or college football in
general?

I'm curious to what style of offense does Lahser run? In the recent years, Ross has had some trouble stopping the run. Ironically, 10 years ago it was the
total opposite. I guess thats mostly to blame due to the GBC using some sort of pass oriented style of play.
Also I would like to hear about any potential Div I recruits they may have. Its probably early to be askin this but I want to know if Fremont goes up there to play them in 2010? I would hope so. |

It'll be interesting to be able to go home from work before heading to the game for a change, that's true. Distance doesn't matter to me though.
Love the tradition of driving down while listening to the pregame show and going home listening to post-game.

Don't let Searn pull a Lou Holtz on us!!
Oakland County turns out some pretty good athletes every year. Schools like Lahser, Groves, Seaholm and bigger ones like Brother Rice are very competitive in a lot of sports (and compete for state championships up North) and send kids to a lot of colleges. Number of kids to draw from may be an issue in being a Michigan D-3, but Ross just barely a D-1 in Ohio. Lets be prepared for a great inter-state rivalry and see what happens. This should be a great experience for both teams.. |
