According to TD Truckers, Sandusky has been admitted to the NOL. |

For those who don't know, he writes for the Register, so I consider this as slamdunk. Marion Harding has been turned down by the NOL. Congrats to the Blue
Streaks on their acceptance to the Northern Ohio League.

Congrats to the Blue Streaks. I wish them well in the NOL. A word to the AD's at both Ross and Sandusky. DON'T ALLOW ANY INTERRUPTIONS IN OUR FOOTBALL
SERIES! Start working NOW to make sure these teams continue to play...EVERY YEAR. Our rivalry is too historic to let it go by the wayside.

This is big trouble for Ross. Two out---Nap and Sandtown---leaving Ross with few options or anyone wanting Ross and probably Findlay.

The GBC is over as we know it.
Who in the right minds would join the GBC NOW with Fremont Ross, Findlay, Marion Harding and Lima Senior? If Ross can not find a new league before the GBC Disbands, Finding a Week 7 Game is going to be nearly impossible. |

I still think the NOL will eventually wise up, and accept Ross.

First and foremost folks need to stop acting like the roof is falling in. If we play an independent schedule it will just be tougher for the AD to find teams
and he will need to be more creative about opponents. He did it for week five of this football season. Other programs do it. Remember back in the days of the
Buckeye Central Conference when we played 6 nonconference games? It worked then, it can work again.
As far as the NOL goes, I think there was a message in them not taking Marion Harding. They don't want to go that big and we are bigger than Harding by two in the last OHSAA count. Continue to hope, there is nothing wrong with that but I doubt anything is going to come of it. Keith |

I don't think size was an issue with Harding. To them, Harding isn't a geographical fit.

I don't think anyone is acting like the roof is falling in.
Just stating simple facts, as I think the majority of people feel the GBC will cease to exist soon unless something drastic were to happen, which I doubt it because who would join a failing league Going Independent will not bother me, but lets face it. Not many people will want to go to Columbus or even down south to Cincinnati for a Week 6 or 7 Non Conference Game. Personally, I don't care where the game is at, I'll be there. Sports will continue as expected at Ross for us fans, and we'll still get our 10 Games, (At least 9) anyways. But however, I'm glad I don't have the job that will have to figure out all of this scheduling, or the financial implications. But with that being said, how does this impact Ross financially? This is perhaps the most over looked concern right now. Sports are fine, but what ramifications will come from this? |

How many teams were in the former conference we were in? I think it was called Buckeye Central? If memory serves me it was only 4 or 5? What was the issue with
that conference? Size or travel?
Financial consideration is important, just as GoHooter stated. |

I believe the Financial Concerns are the biggest problems right now that could have the most adverse effects.
Higher Sporting Costs, Traveling Costs and ect, (Possible) Reduction in Home Games, due to desperation to fill out schedules. All of those things could have a Huge Impact on Sports, and things like Pay to Play could see a serious hike if things don't work out, which we all know what the effects of a High Pay to Play could do long term wise. |

The Buckeye Central Conference consisted of...
Findlay Fremont Ross Lancaster Newark Zanesville Not exactly sure what the thinking was behind the formation of that conference. You had two teams from the former Buckeye Conference and three from the former Central Ohio League. I don't know if the hope at the time was to create some type of state-wide power league or if it was just a stop-gap measure for the schools involved. I know we didn't stay in the BCC very long.

I know the NOL folks are thinking that the addition of Sandy to their league adds stability but frankly, I am not so sure changes are done there. I
wouldn't be suprised to see Fostoria leave. And the folks in Shelby are not exactly thrilled with all the changes. If those two program were to bolt the
NOL would be back to five members.

I think Fostoria will end up staying. Their main concern was dealing with a 6(or less) member League, and they didn't want to do with that again. Hence,
the earlier-than-expected announcement of Sandusky being admitted.

Keith, just pointing out that that conference was under 6 schools and the reason for breaking up was financial/travel not number of schools.
