As we come to another high school graduation, it is time to speculate on who might be
candidates for the News-Messenger Micheal Bosi Award. Bosi was a NM reporter who died in his mid 20's from Marfan's disease. There have been about 12
winners from the area with Ross picking up their first winner last year.
Here are some top candidates. My speculation is the winner will come from either Alex Gillete of Clyde or Erin Pendelton of Woodmore who is the defending
state champ in the discus and the state record holder.
Bosi award 2009
Erin Pendelton-Woodmore-Track. Defending state champ and state record holder in the discus (going for a second title) . Will travel up north to Meeshigan on a track scholarship. I believe she also played soccer.
Alex Gillett-Clyde. 1st team D-3 quarterback., Also plays basketball and baseball (although I believe he is hurt this season). Will play at Eastern Michigan.
Terrance Davis--Ross--1st team All Ohio end. He will play at a prep school next year and transfer to a D-1 college. I think he would rate higher if he had run track and showed that amazing speed.
Brad Wollenslagel-Ross--Football and baseball. Expected to play football at BGSU for a year and hopes to transfer to Air Force Academy.
Nate Halbeisen-=Ross, 2nd team All Ohio Football. Have not heard if he is going to play football in college? Any other sport.?
