Ohio Northern mens swimming will be going for a 5th straight Ohio Athletics Conf. title this winter. Area Sophmore swimmers will be playing key roles for the Polar Bears. SJCC Nick Swint, FR Andre Velez and Norwalk CC Garrett Dauch are all sophomore's and going for their second letter. ONU is coached by former Tiffin Columbian coach Peggy Ewald who also was one of the Team USA ParaOlympic Coaches this year at Bejing. Their season starts next weekend.
Akron Freshman swimmer Jessica Ickes (FR) will be competing in her first meet this weekend at BGSU.
Toledo Freshman Jacque Fate (FR) opens her collegiate swimming career this weekend at a meet at Oakland Un.
Josh Bowen (FR) a sophomore at Baldwin Wallace is a member of the mens swim team.
Stephenie Greggilla of Oak Harbor is amember of the Ashland Un swim team.
At OSU Freshman Lincoln Fahrbach (FR) is in contention for a startng spot on sprint relays among the top sprinters for the 11th rated Buckeyes. They open their season with a scarlet and gray meet next weekend.
In Wrestling Oak Harbor's Freshman Cody Magrum will wrestle this weekend in a team wrestle off to determine the starter at 174 against a Penn State Un transfer for the Ohio State University. The Buckeyes are expected to be ranked in the top 5 in college wrestling.
Oak Harbor's Wes Bergman, a senior, is a backup on the OSU wrestling squad at 174. Brother JD Bergman who finished second at the NCAA Championships at Hwt last year is now a grad assistant for the Buckeyes. The Bergman brothers and Fahrbach are cousins!!
At Un of Michigan, Emily Pendelton (Woodmore) will be throwing the discus for the indoor track season. Her dad advises she will not participate in meets until after Christmas.
In a disappointing note, word has it that Clyde's Matt Guhn reinjured his shoulder and his wrestling career at U of M is likely finished. He was one heck of a wrestler and state champ for the Flyers.

Ashland Un Eagles has Micky Kuns (Magaretta) as member of the Lady Eagle's basketball team.
Caley Miller (FR) is a sophmore sprinter on the Notre Dame College swim team and Kurt Wolfe of Genoa is on the Falcons wrestling squad.

Aaron Opelt (FR) continues as the starting QB at Toledo and was one of the stars in their win over the Un. of Michigan last weekend.
The Defiance College Yellow Jackets have Woodmore's Zach Floro, Danberry's Jared Ensign and Nick Weidenhoft, Lakota's Tom Foos, Gburgs Jordan Wolpert all on the Varsity football squad. Greg McNutt and Josh Hegmeier of Oak Harbor and Elmore's Gene Snyder are on the Jackets soccer team. Sara Collins of PC is on the Volleyball Team
At Ohio Northern, Jr. Blair Ellenberger and Freshman Emma Ellenberger (FR) both competed for the Polar Bears soccer squads.
At Heidelberg, Josh Smith (FR) is completing his first season as an offensive lineman for the Berg.
Also at Heidelberg, Morgan Majors (Clyde) is a member of the volleyball team and former Ross record holder Suzanne Chudzinski is a foward on the soccer team.
The Tiffin Un Dagons have SJCC star Mike Leno and Bellvue's Cody Koselke as a senior wide recievers and Ross limeman Justin Pasch a soph lineman. Spencer Schabel (FR) is still hitting the long ball on the golf course for the Dragons. Port Clinton's Kyle Mellinger is a frosh on the soccer squad. For the Lady"s, Fremont's Brittany Meek is a freshman forward on the soccer team.
At BGSU, Ross record holder Ashley Fisher is a member of the Falcon Cross Country and Track Teams. She finished 16th in the recent Falcon CC Invite out of 121 competing.
